Title: How to find the length of the Hypotenuse on a Right Triangle.
Lesson Objective: Students will be able to find the hypotenuse of right triangles by learning the formula for the Pythagorean theorem.
Introduction: The hypotenuse is the longest side of a right triangle. The length of the hypotenuse can be found by using the Pythagorean theorem; which states that the length of the hypotenuse squared has to equal to the sum of the other two sides squared.
Finding the Hypotenuse:
Pythagorean theorem formula:
Assignment: Do pages 171 - 172; 4 - 26 in the Geometry text book. Find the length of the Hypotenuse by using the Pythagorean theorem and show all work.
Teacher Comments: It might help to type out a sample problem or two so that online kids can see how they would type up responses and/or work it out on the computer rather than just the video which is more traditional. Good
